COLLABORATING ON FUTURE VARROA CONTROL

摘要

The genesis of this meeting was the urgent need for New Zealand to develop its own research into future varroa controls, and to incorporate best practice from here and overseas so that beekeepers have options and further tools to control varroa in thefuture. Plant and Food Research made two previous funding applications to the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and the Sustainable Farming Fund. Both applications failed due to lack of co-funding, lack of diversity in research providers in the applications and other reasons.
