Background: Phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors and alpha-adrenergic blocking agents (alpha-blockers) are widely used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
