We have a packed issue, with news of a failed take-over, a Mexican polyurethane market that is full of potential but working in an unclear environment under a new president, a round-up of some of the latest developments in the automotive industry, and a new group of CASE elastomers from Huntsman. That's quite a lot go to at. For me, the most interesting business story this issue is the almost casual approach that Kingspan made to Recticel in April. It is not clear how much preliminary work went into it the €700m bid. But is unusual for the target to have to ask the bidder about how it planned to deal with anti-trust issues, what the tax implications for the owners of the target company would be, or even the identity of the company to whom it planned to sell on largest part of the business.
