US pricing for value-add sheet products slumped Monday as some mills were willing to offer more aggressive pricing to secure orders. The daily Platts TSI US cold-rolled coil assessment fell by $14.50/st to $923.50/st, while the weekly Platts TSI hot-dip galvanized index fell by $16.25/st on week to $1,001.75/st. The HDG price assessment includes a G90 coating weight extra. A service center source booked 150 st of CRC from an integrated producer at $885/st, but put offers from other mills at $920/st. In recent weeks, mills had been holding CRC offers above HDG base substrate pricing, but CRC pricing has moved lower and is now more closely aligned with HDG substrate prices, the service center source said. One source said he was seeing current spot pricing for CRC and HDG substrate at $880-$920/st, while the second service center source put current HDG substrate pricing anywhere from $840/ st to $960/st.
