Lebanon has started to move forward with a major investment and infrastructure program that will boost demand for building materials including steel, of which Turkey is expected to be a key supplier, Rami Mortada, the ambassador of Lebanon in the UK, said at a meeting in London last week. The first items in the infrastructure drive, an airport expansion and a data center, have been brought forward, and work will begin on these toward the end of this year, Mortada told guests at a business roundtable event at the Arab British Chamber of Commerce.
