European rebar prices fell this past week as supply continued to outweigh demand in the EU-27 area. Northern European rebar prices, basis ex-works Ruhr, were assessed at Eur496.50/mt Friday while southern European rebar prices, basis FOB Mediterranean, were assessed at Eur465.00/mt, down Eur17/mt and Eur2.50/mt week on week, respectively. S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish exported rebar at $468/mt FOB Turkey on Friday, stable on the previous day. Offers remained at $470/mt FOB Turkey actual weight, several sources said. Two traders expected tradable values to fall to $465/mt FOB Turkey in the next few days. Platts assessed CIS export billet at $425/mt FOB Black Sea Friday, stable from Thursday. Multiple market players reported no new price movement following a cargo booked at $425/mt FOB earlier in the week.
