RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire is home to 4626 Squadron, a specialist aeromedical evacuation unit of the Royal Air Force Reserve. Its commanding officer is nurse Marie-Noelle Orzel.Ms Orzel was recently appointed nursing director at North Bristol NHS Trust, but has a very different role at the weekend. Then she is responsible for deploying the squadron's 177 reservist nurses, doctors, paramedics, mental health nurses and medical assistants as they supplement the RAF during conflicts and crises.
