GSFC Launches Campaign on Awareness of Crop Residue Management in Collaboration with Haryana Government

Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals (GSFC) Limited undertook an initiative in collaboration with Department of Agriculture, Government of Haryana to generate awareness among farmers to use crop residue as marketable products and convince them that it is a win-win situation which provides them an additional source of livelihood and green environment. Eight villages of Panipat district namely Azizullapur, Sarai Bachhra, Gadivara, Bagsher Afghan, Sanjoli, Dhadoli, Assan Khurd and Bohli were identified for the campaign. Scheme was operationalized through sensitization of progressive farmers and school children on harmful effects of residue burning on environmental degradation and generate wealth out of this waste. It was decided to distribute bags and stickers carrying slogans related to residue burning among school children and organize the children-centric games like kho-kho , kabbadi for sustenance of the interest of audience.
