As a result of fairly good weather 30th in terms of time and space, the consumption of total fertiliser nutrients increased during 2010-11. Against surge in demand for fertilisers, the indigenous production showed modest growth during the period. The supply from indigenous production was inadequate to cover the increased demand. Therefore, large quantity of fertilisers were imported during the year.
