Brescia, the centre of a territory rich in centuries-old metallurgical tradition, is considered the cradle of aluminium extrusion: here at the turn of the Sixties several plants for the production of light alloy profiles came into being, set up by brave entrepreneurs who were able to detect correctly the new material's potential development. This was the path chosen by Franco Turla, who in 1967, aged 23, founded the small steel machining company in Valtrompia that bears his name, starting off with a lathe and little more equipment.
