Fibre Reinforced Polymers for Civil Engineering Applications

The production of G-FRP profiles for the construction industry is usually carried out by pultrusion. Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer materials are preferred in the building industry where their enhanced properties justify the higher costs compared to conventional materials. Examples are the use in chemical plants due to the increased corrosion protection against aggressive chemicals, and in lightweight construction due to the lower weight.
