A preliminary report on screening the resistance of watermelon varieties to Fusarium wilt

More than 500 watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) accessions were screened by root-dipping inoculation with Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. niveum at the seedling stage. None was highly resistant, 29 were moderately resistant (5.66%), 41 were slightly resistant(7.99%) and 443 were susceptible (86.35%). Nearly all of the resistant accessions were introduced into China from other countries.
