Herman Bachelard

Herman Bachelard was born in Melbourne,Australia,and gained his BSc in Chemistry and Microbiology from Melbourne University in 1951.The next five years were spent in chemical industry at Sydney and Melbourne.Although he never regretted the years he spent in applied science,Herman realized that the commercial world did not provide the intellectual stimulation he needed,and he returned to academia in 1956,achieving an MS and PhD in Biochemistry at Monash University.
