Seco Tools AB, a world leader in metalworking technologies, provides solutions for milling, turning, hoiemaking and threading applications, and is committed to solving ever-changing customer demands for greater productivity, quality and cost-effectiveness. To do so, Seco looked outside of the typical toolbox for a number of productivity enhancing tools to identify and resolve issues on the shop floor. Created to follow and measure components and processes, PCA is used by Seco Tool technical specialists to pinpoint inefficiencies and costs in customers' shops. This analytical software provides a broad view of the manufacturing environment, not just cutting tools, and makes use of a number of reports to show increases In throughput as well as real reductions in cost per part and cycle time. Results are measurable, with significant reductions in tooling costs and average productivity increases of 40 percent or more.
