Toolmaker highlights product enhancements

Boring tools that don't need manual adjustment, facemills that operate at cutting speeds up to 20,000 sfm and milling cutters with a clamping system that permits up to threefold increases in feed rates and material-removal rates. Those were the precision and productivity enhancements discussed by toolmaker Valenite LLC Aug. 17 during a press tour of its Madison Heights, Mich., facility. The boring tools are MODCO air-actuated, cylinder-bore tools. Because they don't need manual adjustment, they avoid possible operator errors during compensations.
