HAWKE S BAY

The Hydro Team at Hawke's Bay has seen some action in the past year. Lastsummer, we completed a concurrent gauging survey of 12 rivers and streams in theRuataniwha Plains, and also tackled an instream habitat investigation on the upperTutaekuri River, all while keeping on top of all our core programmes including lowflow monitoring. As a result, the Hydro Team undertook 922 gaugings during2008/2009, much higher than the average of 540, and this annual figure is sure toincrease over future years.
