Singapore—Taiwan’s leading electric arc furnace steelmaker Feng Hsin Iron and Steel announced another T$300/mt cut to its domestic ferrous scrap bids Sept. 28, just four days after its previous T$300/mt cut, as seaborne indications continue to weaken, a source from the mill said. The company’s bid for local HMS I/II 80:20 was cut to T$7,900/mt ($271/mt), down T$300/mt from Sept. 24, for deliveries to its Taichung mill effective from Sept. 29. The latest cut takes the total reduction in the past four days to T$600/mt as offers for imported seaborne material continue to weaken, the source said.
