Weekly iron ore shipments up 5.7%: S&P Global Platts cFlow

Singapore—Iron ore seaborne shipments from the five major producers (Vale, Rio Tinto, BHP, Fortescue Metals Group and Roy Hill) were up by 5.7% on the week before to 23.12 million mt in the August 9-15 week. This was higher than the average of 22.05 million mt over the previous four weeks. Vale’s exports have been above 6.2 million mt for three straight weeks, helping the company to catch up on lost volumes earlier this year. The data should be used as an indication only and may not capture all vessel movements and volumes.
