Iron ore prices inch up on strong buying

Singapore—Seaborne iron ore prices continued to see support on strong buying activities Sept. 7. S&P Global Platts assessed the 62% Fe Iron Ore Index at $129.90/ dry mt CFR North China on Sept. 7, up $1.20/dmt from Sept. 4. The front-month October TSI swap was up 60 cents/dmt from Sept. 4 at $123.65/dmt on Sept. 7. Market sources pointed to end-user demand for seaborne cargoes and continued portside reselling opportunities as key factors that continue to fuel speculative demand.
