Turkish import scrap prices rise despite lack of trading

Import prices for Turkish ferrous scrap edged higher Tuesday as prices in the finished steel markets became clearer. S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish imports of premium heavy melting scrap 1/2 (80:20) at $300/mt CFR Tuesday, up $2.50/ mt from Monday. The majority of sellers continued to stay out of the market until more concrete results were heard in the export rebar market.
