Taiwan lowers domestic scrap and rebar prices on poor demand

Domestic heavy melting scrap prices in Taiwan were adjusted lower this week on the back of a continued in demand for rebar products, Taiwanese mill sources said. Major mini-mill Feng Hsin Iron and Steel cut its scrap buying price to T$8,800/mt ($284.8/mt) for HMS I/II 80:20 delivered to its Taichung mill this week, down by T$300/mt ($9.7/mt) from the previous week, a source from the mill said Monday.
