Europe met coke contract prices fall in Q2 on softer steel

Met coke prices in Europe for the second quarter have seen falls of around Eur15/mt ($17/mt) in blast furnace grade coke contracts with Eastern and Central European suppliers, as softer demand has led to falling offers to major regional steelmakers, according to suppliers and market sources this week. European BF coke prices range between Eur320-350/mt ($360-$393/mt) delivered basis to mills, down from a range of Eur340-370/mt in Q1, said a trader in Europe serving multiple steel mills.
