India's Tata Sponge Iron has received environmental approval to expand direct reduced iron production at Bileipada, Odisha, by 9.4% to 465,000 mt/year from 425,000 mt/year, the company said last Friday. It said the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change had considered the company’s "application and subject to certain conditions, decided to accord environmental clearance for the enhancement of DRI production."
