CWC LNG 2017: Oil 'set to dominate Asian LNG price indexation to 2030' – JERA

The majority of LNG headed to Asia will remain indexed to crude oil prices until 2030, though the volume will reduce as more supply from the US and elsewhere comes online, JERA’s senior executive vice president Hiroki Sato told delegates at CWC’s World LNG summit. Sato said that around 80% of the LNG volumes contracted to Asia are currently oil indexed, and expects crude-indexed volumes to remain dominant, despite tapering down over the coming decade.
