Petrobras Makes Amazon Find

Brazilian state-controlled oil company Petrobras said Friday that a recent oil and natural gas find in the Amazon region, where it already operates three fields, con- tains some of the lightest crude ever found in the country. Production in the exploratory well 1-ICB- 1-AM, known as Igarape Chibata 1, could reach 2,500 b/d of light oil, the company said in a statement. An extended well test showed that the gravity of the oil is estimat- ed at 46°.
