Proposed changes to fob Richards Bay assessments

Argus proposes to assess weekly NAR 5,700 kcal/kg fob Richards Bay (RB) and NAR 5,500 kcal/kg fob RB prices as differentials to the API 4 swaps market and to request more detailed responses to the survey of market participants conducted each week. These markets are predominantly traded as differentials to South African derivatives prices, and market survey information will be requested on this basis for each of the two individual months that define the physical loading window being assessed. Outright prices will be calculated based on the assessed differentials and the weekly average of relevant API 4 swaps daily settlement prices.
