摘要

In hot strip mills, the strip moving along the processing line is subject to a complex nature of cooling and reheating, including heat loss due to air cooling, water cooling, thermal conduction, contact heat transfer, heat generation due to plastic deformation and due to friction, and sometimes, heat supply from the reheating device such as a bar heater. Since product quality such as product dimensions, metallurgical and mechanical properties of the strip, and production economy are all critically influenced by the strip temperature, the prediction models of temperature history have been developed in the past years such as FEM(finite element method) and FDM(finite differential method) model with the highly accuracy, but numerical models have a computing cost and convergence problem. For the on-line application, the model should give a stable and real time prediction solution.
