CHANGES to Scotland's 2011/12 financial settlement for community pharmacy have been announced with transitional and shadow fee payments now separated into payments for two elements: community and care home. Changes to payments for the chronic medication service were also agreed and are now related to the number of patients registered, according to the latest payment restructuring announcement. Negotiations with the Scottish National Party have resulted in payments for pharmacy based on care delivered to patients, according to Martin Green, chairman of Community Pharmacy Scotland.
