Using a previously described Peyronie disease animal model, Chung et al (page 380) from Canada evaluated the penile curvature, immunohistology and erectile function outcomes following intra-lesional injections of verapamil and normal saline in Peyronie plaques induced in 12 adult male rats. After 4 weeks the animals were divided into 3 different groups. Group 1 (5 rats) received 0.1 mg/0.1 ml of intralesional verapamil injected every second day for 2 weeks, group 2 (5) received 0.1 ml of intralesional normal saline injection and group 3 consisted of 2 rats which were kept as controls.
