摘要

The study presented here is valuable, as it reminds each of us, both as practicing clinicians as well as in our role of training residents, the importance of radiation exposure awareness. By creating a training model that is integrated into the residency program, the authors, in effect, will positively change the practice patterns of their residents for the rest of their careers. The overall reduction in the use of radiation will benefit both the patient and clinician alike.Given the discrepancy in state requirements regarding fluo-roscopy certification throughout the United States, it would be valuable to add uniform minimum fluoroscopy training modules as part of all residency-training programs. Awareness is the key factor. However, as described in this article, adding both didactic and practical instruction will help facilitate the "as low as reasonably achievable" principle in all cases.
