Crude stocks at Cushing, Oklahoma-the pricing and delivery point for NYMEX crude futures-edged 30,000 barrels higher last week t0 64.73 million barrels, keeping inventories near working capacity, US Energy Information Administration data showed Thursday. Stocks were at 89% of working capacity, and 87% of working capacity adjusted to reflect pipeline space and oil in transit. One Midwest crude trader said the Cushing storage hub was starting to feel the strain of high utilization.
