Calgary-Crunch time is looming for Western Canada’s oil producers as deadlines draw closer for the federal cabinet to decide the fate of three export pipelines from Alberta. While a decision is due by November 24 for the 525,000 b/d Northern Gateway and the Line 3 replacement that will increase throughput on that pipeline by 370,000 b/d, by December 19 the cabinet will also take a call on Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain Expansion that will add 590,000 b/d of new capacity.
