Total transfers 20% stake in Kharyaga field to Zarubezhneft

Moscow-Russia’s Zarubezhneft has completed a deal to take over the operatorship of Kharyaga oilfield from France’s Total, and increase its stake in the project to 40%, the companies said in a joint statement Monday. Completion of the deal is in line with timeframes previously given by Total officials, who said they were planning to complete the deal by the end of this summer. As of Monday, Total now controls a 20% stake in the project. Zarubezhneft holds a total of 40%, with 20% controlled by Zarubezhneft and 20% plus operatorship controlled by its subsidiary Zarubezhneft- Production Kharyaga.
