Saipem inks MOUs for Iranian oil, gas projects

Rome-Italian oil services company Saipem has signed two early agreements with Iranian companies to cooperate on large-scale oil and gas developments in the Middle Eastern producing country. A memorandum of understanding with Iran’s Parsian Oil & Gas Development Company will see it embark on “major projects” in Iran, which is rejoining the global markets after most Western sanctions over its nuclear program were lifted this month. The MOU the Parsian Oil & Gas will cover discussions aimed at Saipem’s potential cooperation in revamping and upgrading the Pars Shiraz and Tabriz refineries, the company said late Monday.
