Brazil’s sees record product output in 2014

Rio de Janeiro—Brazil’s refineries set an output record in 2014, producing 2.17 million b/d of gasoline, diesel and other products needed to power Latin America’s largest economy and reduce fuel imports, state-run oil company Petrobras said Monday. Petrobras pushed its refineries to near 100% capacity in 2014, boosting processing 45,000 b/d through incremental capacity increases across its refineries in an effort to cut back on hefty import bills.
