Hanoi—Vietnam is focusing on marginal fields in its Cuu Long basin, hoping to sustain crude production which is expected to fall sharply in the years ahead, speakers at PetroVietnam Conference and Exhibition 2015 said last week. The Cuu Long basin is located off southwestern Vietnam, about 250 km (155.34 miles) from the southern city of Vung Tau. Vietnam’s flagship Bach Ho field and several other relatively large fields, which together account for most of the country’s crude output, are located in the basin.
