Lagos-Nigerian conglomerate Dangote Industries plans to raise the capacity of its oil refinery under construction to 650,000 b/d from the initially planned 400,000 b/d, local media reported Monday. Devakumar Edwin, executive director of the Dangote group, said the expansion of the refinery’s capacity was aimed at taking advantage of Nigeria’s rising crude output and to drastically reduce the need for oil product imports, Thisday newspaper reported.
