Russia mulls higher tax, lower export duty

Moscow—The Russian finance ministry is set to propose higher rates of mineral extraction tax on crude production, and lower export duty on crude, in mid-May, Russian news outlets reported April 29, citing minister Anton Siluanov. The ministry plans to cut its oil export duty to 57% or 58% of the price of crude from 60%, according to Russian daily Vedomosti.
