Cape Town—While interest in new exploration activity in most of North Africa has been muted in recent years because of political turmoil throughout the region, Morocco has been largely devoid of political woes. With its attractive fiscal regime and significant potential for onshore and offshore discoveries, activity is ramping up with at least 10 wells to be drilled over the next 18 months.
