Biofuel makers shoot for 10% of pool

Las Vegas-As a growing number of US law- makers suggest reforms to the policy that essentially created the US biofuels industry, the National Biodiesel Board will ask Con- gress to look to the model of electricity-not oil-when deciding how to improve transpor- tation fuels. NBB's CEO Joe Jobe said February 5, during the group's annual conference in Las Vegas, that some lawmakers might have wrongly concluded that the recent boom in domestic oil production will shield the US from fluctuating prices and supply disrup- tions, thereby reducing the need for the Environmental Protection Agency's Renew- able Fuel Standard.
