London—Europe’s top foreign policy official Catherine Ashton and Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif released a joint statement on Wednesday, after two days of “substantive and forward-looking negotiations.” The text of the joint statement is as follows: “Delegations from the EU3+3 and the Islamic Republic of Iran, led respectively by the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy and [the] foreign minister of Iran, held two days of substantive and forward-looking negotiations in Geneva on 15-16 October 2013.
