KNOC starts gasoline imports for discount fuel pumps

Seoul—South Korea’s state-run Korea National Oil Corp. has imported its first gasoline cargo to supply discount fuel stations as it tries to curb rising domestic retail prices. This would be the first time that KNOC has imported oil for discount fuel stations. The company has until now been supplying these pumps with fuel purchased from local refiners, but wants to boost supplies to discount stations and hence has to rely on imports.
