Houston—As 2011 draws to a close, the latest monthly data from the American Petroleum Institute continued December 22 to reflect three recurring themes of increased US oil production, higher exports of petroleum products and a commercial recovery seen by increased diesel demand. At the same time, however, the API’s statistical report for November also continued to reveal a softer consumer sector seen in lower demand for gasoline.
