Russia pushes back ban on Euro 2 gasoline to 2013

Moscow-Russia, as expected, has withdrawn a ban on the domestic sale of Euro 2 standard gasoline and pledged to reinstate the measure only at the start of 2013. Russia banned the sale of Euro 2 gasoline at the start of 2011, but in early June the energy ministry proposed revoking the ban and then reinstating it in 2012 because the domestic refining industry was unable to produce enough higher quality fuel because of the state of the country's outdated refineries.
