London-UK-based Gulfsands Petroleum warned investors September 19 that its production outlook for the rest of 2011 was uncertain after it was forced to slash output in the wake of US and EU sanctions on Syria. Gulfsands, which produces almost all its oil from Syria, said it cut its gross oil production from the troubled country by some 40% to 14,500 b/d on September 8 on the direction of Syrian authorities.
