South Sudan warns against oil cooperation with Sudan

Cape Town—South Sudan and Sudan remain at loggerheads over oil transit following failed talks to resolve the row and a warning from Juba in the south that oil companies should not cooperate with Sudan on crude oil-related matters unless authorized. Officials from South Sudan’s oil ministry said November 30 Juba would have to halt oil production in a matter of days if no deal is reached with the government in Khartoum on transit fees (ON 12/1).
