Iraq prequalifies 41 companies for exploration round

Dubai—ExxonMobil, Shell, Total, BP, Chevronand a host of multinational oil companiesare among 41 foreign oil companies thathave qualified for Iraq’s fourth bidding roundfor 12 exploration blocks due to be awardedin January next year. The Iraqi oil ministry said in a statementon its website August 8 that 50 companieshad submitted qualification documents forconsideration by a June 6 deadline.
