US rig count falls by 11

Houston—The US rig count was 2,008 for the week ended December 22, down by 11 from the prior week, according to Baker Hughes. The latest count includes 1,966 land and 42 offshore, with 802 assigned to gas, 1,201 to oil and 5 to miscellaneous drilling. The rigs were drilling 623 vertical, 213 directional and 1,172 horizontal wells.
