Norway awards 38 licenses in mature round

London-Norway's oil ministry January 19 awarded 38 production licenses to 42 companies in its latest round for acreage in mature offshore areas, slightly more than in last year's mature round. The ministry said in a statement that the 38 blocks offered under its Awards in Predefined Areas 2009 licensing round were distributed among the North Sea (25), the Norwegian Sea (10) and the Barents Sea (3).
