New York—Master limited partnerships have been on an equity-issuing tear this year, driven in part by those partnerships tapping into US shale growth opportunities. In the first quarter this year, US energy sector MLPs issued about $3 billion in new equity, with about 18 offerings, up from eight offerings in the same year-ago period with about $1.2 billion raised, according to a recent report by Credit Suisse investment bank.
